About Michelle

Hello and thank you for visiting my corner of creativity. I am Michelle Nosco, an impassioned artist residing in the heart of Ventura, California, at the WAV (Working Artists Ventura). My journey in the arts began in the Midwest, where I found my voice in painting as a young violinist at the tender age of five.

My academic voyage has taken me through a myriad of artistic disciplines, acquiring a Masters in Directing Theatre, Television, and Film from CalARTS, and a BFA in Painting, Art History, Advertising, and Design from the University of Michigan. My studies extended into multi-media at the Detroit Museum of Art, drawing at Wayne State University, and weaving at the Cranbrook School of Art.

Professionally, I ventured into the advertising world as an art director and later transitioned into producing and directing films. However, painting has always been my sanctuary, enabling me to forge a profound connection with my subjects, leading to commissioned paintings and murals spread across Southern California.

In 2007, a spark was ignited within me after viewing Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth," prompting the establishment of the Arts For Earth Foundation. My art aims to capture and convey the essence of each creature, bringing the spirit of both wildlife and domestic animals to the forefront. This venture supports wildlife sanctuaries and wilderness reclamation projects through the portrayal of California's diverse landscapes and native wildlife.
